Meet Brandi Engler, her wedding is in six days. She is a physician at the local ER. She sees all kinds of things in that place. Anyways her wedding, it's supposed to be beautiful. Her fiance is a wonderful man, he loves her with all of his heart. They have been engaged for 2 years and plan on being together forever. It all seems so perfect.
Being that she is an ER phsyician she is always on call. She was shopping for some last minute things for the wedding when her phone rang. She answered it, it was the hospital.
"There is a man in here that can't breathe we can't figure out whats wrong with him," said the man on the other end of the phone. " You have to get in here!"
She ran to her car, strapped herself in and sped to the hospital. She sprinted to the ER and clocked in. When she got to the patient he was grasping his throat. He was so handsome. She couldn't take her eyes off of him. She asked him to name everything he had eaten that day. He could barely breathe let alone talk. He grabbed the pen and paper on the table next to him and wrote it all down. Cereal, milk, bagel with butter, jordan almonds and a soda are the items on the list.
She tested him for allergies to all of those foods and only one came out positive. Almonds...he is alergic to almonds. She gave him medicine to lower the swelling in his throat and told him the bad news, he couldn't eat jordan almods anymore. He took it rather well, so well in fact that he asked her on a date. She was surprised, and confused. She couldn't possibly go on a date with this man. She was engaged and she didn't know his name. She had the nurse look at the records for his name.
Greg Sampson, his name is Greg Sampson. Thats a nice name. It matches his personality. Brandi was in a fix. She didn't have a clue as to what she should do. She loved her fiance but had never felt this way about anyone before. She went back into the examining room and told him to meet her at the coffee shop on Trumbel St. at five o'clock on Tuesday. She didn't know why she was going to do this but she had a feeling in her gut that was too strong to ignore.
She did her hair and put on some expensive perfume. She wanted to look flawless. She wondered if he felt the same way she did. It was four-thirty and she couldn't sit still so she walked to Oliver's Coffee Shop. To her surprise when she walked in he was already sitting at her favorite table.
"I'm getting married in three days, why am I here?" she whispered to herself.
He saw her walk in and his cheeks became rosy. He was nervous and so was she. They talked for two hours, about things she would never talk about with her fiance. They were completely comfortable with each other. It was totally surreal. Brandi didn't want to go back to her apartment because at that point she would have to deal with reality. She told him about her problem and he didn't care, Greg was in love with her. They had only known each other for three days and they had never been more in love.
A ring interupted their conversation. She answered her phone. Her fiance wanted to talk to her, at home. They shared a hug and she walked home with a smile on her face. There she stood, staring at her door. Nervously she opened the door, he had flowers for her. She began to cry. She didn't deserve this treatment, she didn't love him anymore. She didn't have the heart to tell him that. She figured this would go away.
Greg and Brandi met at that coffe shop for they next two days. On the morning of her wedding she called him hoping for some words to calm her thoughts. He didn't answer... on purpose. He had realized she was ruining something good. Why would he do that to her family? She called about ten more times, with no answer. She had to give up, her wedding was in about two hours. She had to get ready if she was going to lie in front of about two hundred people. She got her hair done, put on her dress and psyched herself up for agony.
Her mother helped her get into the limo and they rode of to the church. Brandi wanted to cry, she wanted to run away. She was going to go through with it all, up until the point when Greg walked into the chapel. She started to cry, that same feeling she got when she agreed to go on a date with him was back. She was about to do something crazy.
She ran down the aisle and leaped into his arms, but when she looked back at the face of her fiance her overwhelming joy was sucked away. Greg was pulling on her arm while her fiance had tears running down his face. She had about five seconds to decide. Should she do what's right or should she run, and have her true love. Everything seemed like it was in slow motion, the choice she was about to make would break someone's heart. She didn't know what would happen after she did this but she ran. She ran as fast as she possibly could. She held hands with her true love the entire way. They ran to the beach, they sat on that beach together until the sun came up. Greg and Brandi Sampson now live in Paris. Brandi still lives with the guilt of breaking a man's heart, and Greg loves her anyways. It's funny the way things turn out, she got what she wanted and it came with the worst feeling in the world, guilt. She tries to get the courage up to call him once in a while but it never happens. Life sure is strange.
