Billy Bibbit

Billy Bibbit is an amazing character. In the book it mentions that he is close to thirty years old. He does not act like a typical thirty year old would act. He has a stutt, he is shy, and he is still afraid of his mother. I love the way he acts in the play. I especially love his reaction to McMurphy's suggestion to sleep with Candy. He loves the idea at first and then claims that he doesn't know if it's a good idea.
Reading the play as a class made the characters really come to life. Steve played Billy's part in class and I think he did a really good job. He was able to read the stutter, and I think he even read the emotion in Billy's parts. Everyone in class read the play well but my opinion is that Steve did the best job.
Another really good character is Martini. I liked his part in the movie better than in the play. His part was played by Danny Devito. Mrs. Morrison told me it was his first movie. He is a really talented actor. He made me feel kind of bad for Martini. He showed emotion in the movie that I didn't feel from the play. I loved it.

10 reasons why life is like riding a bike

1. You need balance. If you lean too far to one side, you'll fall off
2. Get back up again! It's not falling down that determines your worth; it's whether or not you get back up.
3. In the beginning you stumble, but with more experience you can really get far!
4. If you look at the ground instead of looking up ahead, you'll lose your balance and crash.
5. When the road throws you a curve, go with it!
6. A bike helps you get to where you need to go. Some people ride bikes just for the thrill of it. And some people believe that life just for the thrills. They don't realize they have places to get to.
7. A bike doesn't move on its own
8. When you get really good, you can do wheelies!Once you get the hang of who you are and where you're going, you can pop some big miracles too!
9. Bicycling gives you muscles.Life toughens you up, especially if you ride up hills
10. You can't do it forever. Some people wish they could live forever. Some people believe it.

The important thing is that you enjoy the ride, and you get to where you need to go!

The Nativity in Ebonics

There was this guy named Joe in Jeruselem and he was crushin on this chick named Mary. They got hitched and had fun and stuff. One day Joe came home from makin' stuff from wood and saw that Mary was pregnant. He was all like," Yo, you get poozle?" And she was all like,"No I ain't got no poozle, an angel was in our crib and he was like you gonna have a king yo." After that happened they moved and went to Bethlehem. On the way there she was like, "Yo, my wata just broke and I'm havin' a freakin baby. Oh yea and the angel told me to name him Jesus or somethin'." Joe took his girl into town and tried to find a crib to chill at. Nobody would let them hang at thier place so they kept walkin. They finally found som place that was called a stable to lay in. There were animals and it was stanky. Mary had the kid and called him Jesus. She placed him in a crib or somethin and people came to check out the little Jesus. The three smart guys came and gave him smelly stuff and cash. It was sweet...yo.

front porch bliss

Sound story-Front Porch Bliss
The sun was setting in that Carolina town. Friends and families began to gather on their front porches. They all love to hear the familiar sound of cicadas and crickets. The warm wind caressed their faces. This was the time they used to relax, they rarely spoke when they sat on their porches. A glow could be seen coming from a single candle or maybe a lantern at each house. This was tradition in the South.
Billy and Imogene sat together on the porch of their first home. They wanted to fit in. They didn’t grow up in the South so they had no idea what this was all about. They looked around at all of the other houses wondering why they did this.
“Why do they do this?” asked Imogene. “I just don’t get it, the noise is annoying and the silence between us is killing me.”
“Because,” Billy replied, “ it’s a tradition of some sort. Now be quiet.”
She was still confused but she let the noise surround her. As the night went on the noise became louder. All other noises disappeared and the only thing they were able to hear was the sound of the cicadas and crickets. They created a symphony, a relaxing tune. That was something that Imogene had needed for a very long time.
She now sits on that porch every night, just like the others. She embraces the night and lets the wind caress her face. She lights a candle and invites her family out onto the porch. She understands, it's a tradition of some sort.

Ten things that I fear

I'm not afraid of much but I do fear these things:

1) Being alone for certain periods of time. Empty houses make noises that scare me
2) Murderers scare me a little bit.
3) Getting in a car accident
4) Clowns can scare me but it depends.
5) Losing everything
6) EXTREME heights
7) Cancer
8) Dying too early, I want to be able to enjoy life.
9) Drowning
10) Changing, I don't mind change in others but I don't want to change myself

Letter to someone important

Dear friend,
I know things are tough for you right now but I miss you. I miss spending time with you. You are always stressing out about grades and your other friends and I never get to see you anymore. Don't let the people around you tear you down. Surround yourself with uplifting people. I can help you when you need someone to talk to. I'll never turn my back on you and I won't talk about you behind your back. You are beautiful, intelligent, and unique. Don't forget that. Make sure you put your life in order. I don't want to see you fail. Neither of us will be able to handle a life full of failure. When a obstacle stands in your way, simply hop over it. Use your brain and follow your heart. Be an example, lead and never follow. Never look back but don't forget where you came from. Follow your dreams and remember...I'm always here...just look in the mirror and I promise I'll be there to look back at you.
Love,
Beth

the absence of electricity

Have you ever thought about how it would be to live in a time completely different than the one you are in. Electicity is a recent invention, I like to think about what i could be doing if there were no electricity. You can get a small view of what it was like, when there are power outages. Some things I like to do when the power is out are:
  1. Read books with a flashlight
  2. Color and/or draw
  3. Light candles and tell ghost stories
  4. Play cherades by candle light
  5. Take naps
  6. Play flashlight tag
  7. Play hide and seek (it gets pretty funny if the power outage is at night)
  8. Check the circut breaker because I start to get bored really fast.
  9. Sing songs to kill time
  10. Have a chubby bunny contest(which is just shoving marshmallows in your mouth)
  11. Argue with my siblings
  12. Just "chill"
What do you like to do when ther is a power outage???

Wedding Day Decision.

Meet Brandi Engler, her wedding is in six days. She is a physician at the local ER. She sees all kinds of things in that place. Anyways her wedding, it's supposed to be beautiful. Her fiance is a wonderful man, he loves her with all of his heart. They have been engaged for 2 years and plan on being together forever. It all seems so perfect.
Being that she is an ER phsyician she is always on call. She was shopping for some last minute things for the wedding when her phone rang. She answered it, it was the hospital.
"There is a man in here that can't breathe we can't figure out whats wrong with him," said the man on the other end of the phone. " You have to get in here!"
She ran to her car, strapped herself in and sped to the hospital. She sprinted to the ER and clocked in. When she got to the patient he was grasping his throat. He was so handsome. She couldn't take her eyes off of him. She asked him to name everything he had eaten that day. He could barely breathe let alone talk. He grabbed the pen and paper on the table next to him and wrote it all down. Cereal, milk, bagel with butter, jordan almonds and a soda are the items on the list.
She tested him for allergies to all of those foods and only one came out positive. Almonds...he is alergic to almonds. She gave him medicine to lower the swelling in his throat and told him the bad news, he couldn't eat jordan almods anymore. He took it rather well, so well in fact that he asked her on a date. She was surprised, and confused. She couldn't possibly go on a date with this man. She was engaged and she didn't know his name. She had the nurse look at the records for his name.
Greg Sampson, his name is Greg Sampson. Thats a nice name. It matches his personality. Brandi was in a fix. She didn't have a clue as to what she should do. She loved her fiance but had never felt this way about anyone before. She went back into the examining room and told him to meet her at the coffee shop on Trumbel St. at five o'clock on Tuesday. She didn't know why she was going to do this but she had a feeling in her gut that was too strong to ignore.
She did her hair and put on some expensive perfume. She wanted to look flawless. She wondered if he felt the same way she did. It was four-thirty and she couldn't sit still so she walked to Oliver's Coffee Shop. To her surprise when she walked in he was already sitting at her favorite table.
"I'm getting married in three days, why am I here?" she whispered to herself.
He saw her walk in and his cheeks became rosy. He was nervous and so was she. They talked for two hours, about things she would never talk about with her fiance. They were completely comfortable with each other. It was totally surreal. Brandi didn't want to go back to her apartment because at that point she would have to deal with reality. She told him about her problem and he didn't care, Greg was in love with her. They had only known each other for three days and they had never been more in love.
A ring interupted their conversation. She answered her phone. Her fiance wanted to talk to her, at home. They shared a hug and she walked home with a smile on her face. There she stood, staring at her door. Nervously she opened the door, he had flowers for her. She began to cry. She didn't deserve this treatment, she didn't love him anymore. She didn't have the heart to tell him that. She figured this would go away.
Greg and Brandi met at that coffe shop for they next two days. On the morning of her wedding she called him hoping for some words to calm her thoughts. He didn't answer... on purpose. He had realized she was ruining something good. Why would he do that to her family? She called about ten more times, with no answer. She had to give up, her wedding was in about two hours. She had to get ready if she was going to lie in front of about two hundred people. She got her hair done, put on her dress and psyched herself up for agony.
Her mother helped her get into the limo and they rode of to the church. Brandi wanted to cry, she wanted to run away. She was going to go through with it all, up until the point when Greg walked into the chapel. She started to cry, that same feeling she got when she agreed to go on a date with him was back. She was about to do something crazy.
She ran down the aisle and leaped into his arms, but when she looked back at the face of her fiance her overwhelming joy was sucked away. Greg was pulling on her arm while her fiance had tears running down his face. She had about five seconds to decide. Should she do what's right or should she run, and have her true love. Everything seemed like it was in slow motion, the choice she was about to make would break someone's heart. She didn't know what would happen after she did this but she ran. She ran as fast as she possibly could. She held hands with her true love the entire way. They ran to the beach, they sat on that beach together until the sun came up. Greg and Brandi Sampson now live in Paris. Brandi still lives with the guilt of breaking a man's heart, and Greg loves her anyways. It's funny the way things turn out, she got what she wanted and it came with the worst feeling in the world, guilt. She tries to get the courage up to call him once in a while but it never happens. Life sure is strange.

The Search

The field was covered with debris from the accident and Thomas Robinson was frantic. He was screaming at the top of his lungs but there was nothing but the sound of the flames surrounding the area. Thomas had been expecting his son to be home today, he had been in Chicago for the month. The plane he was scheduled to be on was on the ten o'clock news. It plummited to the ground leaving no survivors. His son was all he had left in this life and he was nowhere to be found.
Nobody could reason with Thomas, he stayed at that field for days. Croud gathered at the crash sight. They were lured by the sound of his cry, "Alex, where are you?" Alex didn't answer. He was just as lost and confused as his father. He had been wandering around that town for the past three days. Nobody saw him and nobody heard him. He was the only survivor, or so he thought. He wanted to find his father.
Alex was dead, his body was one of the bodies that were unaccounted for. Both Thomas and Alex spent their days searching for each other. Crying out in the darkness. Crowds no longer gathered around that field, they did, however, bring him warm food and hot coffee. He grew old and tired but never gave up. He died at the age of eighty-seven, and that's the day the search for Alex was over. As his spirit rose from his body his son was standing across the field waiting for him. They walked off into the light together. They were at peace, the search was over
